What I did over break

I did not do much over this break, I slept a lot, but I did go to Atlanta Pride both Saturday and Sunday. I went with a group of friends and it was very fun but very hot outside. I started to watch a show called "why women kill" which is very interesting. I also redyed my hair and my eyebrows after waiting for a long time which felt amazing.

How do you find time to enjoy your day, even when you have a lot going on? Write about at least three specific things you do to enjoy small moments throughout your day.

Three things that I do to enjoy small moments throughout my day are, listen to music and romanticize the moment, think of how lucky I am for the life I have, and I pet my cat "knives" as much as I can because he makes me happy.

Write about a dream that felt real.

A dream that felt real was actually a nightmare. My nightmares always feel more real than my dreams. I was trapped in an abandoned house that somehow turned into a "haunted house" but with no scare actors, instead they were real monsters. I begged to be let out but all they did was chase me. I wandered around the darkness until I was enveloped by the creatures, and then I woke up in a cold sweat with my heart beating a mile a minute.

Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

A time I had to step out of my comfort zone was when I auditioned for a play my freshman year of high school. I had never been a fan of performing in front of people, but I decided I wanted to try it out. I was so nervous that I stumbled over my lines twice and I thought I was going to cry on stage. But I ended up getting the role I wanted and I learned how important it is to push yourself to do the scary things in life.

Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

A time when someone's words had a lasting impact on me was when my brother randomly texted me saying he was proud of me for how far I had come. He told me that he was listening to my favorite song "Phantom Bride" by Deftones and when he really listened to the lyrics, prompted him to text me that. My brother and I rarely say that sort of thing to each other, and that song means the world to me which added to the emotional impact. I have struggled with my mental health for years, and the lyrics to that song elude to those kinds of struggles, I am deeply connected to this song in many ways, and I will never forget those words.  Today in class we worked on improving our argumentative skills.
